MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — A second person has entered the race for a ten-year term on the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2027.
Court of Appeals Judge Pedro Colón today announced his candidacy to replace Justice Annette Ziegler, according to a news release from his team. He has spent 15 years as a Judge in the Milwaukee area, including 13 years on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court. Governor Tony Evers then appointed him to the Court of Appeals in 2023.
Colón earned his undergrad degree from Marquette University before going on to study law at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He served in the State Assembly from 1999 to 2010.
His announcement comes two weeks after Clark County Judge Lyndsey Brunette announced her candidacy.
The next Supreme Court election is April 6th, 2027. Should a third person enter the race, a primary would be held on February 16th.
