GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers are spending a lot of money this summer, hoping to find a diamond in the rough or two in their undrafted free agent class for 2026.
According to Packerswire, which looked into the team’s most recent contract totals, all ten undrafted free agents received at least $5,000 in guaranteed money, with four players receiving at least $200,000 guaranteed.
Former UCF edge rusher Nyjalik Kelly is Green Bay’s highest-paid undrafted free agent, with a $15,000 signing bonus and a $247,500 guarantee—nearly as much as sixth-round pick Domani Jackson ($272,436) and more than Trey Smack, the team’s likely starting kicker for the 2026 season ($206,532).
This large payment suggests that the Packers may be looking for Kelly, who visited Green Bay during the NFL draft process after racking up 12.5 career sacks and 118 tackles in college, to compete with 2025 fourth-round pick Barryn Sorrell and 2025 fifth-round pick Collin Oliver to replace former stars Rashan Gary and Kingsley Enagbare.
Three other undrafted free agents, including offensive linemen Dillon Wade and Josh Gesky and receiver J. Michael Sturdivant, received guaranteed payments of $215,000.
Many insiders anticipate that several players from this year’s undrafted rookie class will be given serious consideration for spots on the 53-man roster, including former Florida wide receiver J. Michael Sturdivant, who finished with the fourth-highest athletic receiver grade at the 2026 NFL Combine and ran a 4.40 forty time, and former Virginia Tech star quarterback Kyron Drones, who will compete with longtime veteran Tyrod Taylor and former Ohio State standout Kyle McCord to replace Malik Willis as Jordan Love’s backup.
This week, all rookies will be in Green Bay as the team starts two straight weeks of organized team activities (OTAs), which will lead into mandatory minicamp on June 9–11.
