MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – As many continue to question whether Giannis Antetokounmpo will remain with the Bucks when the 2026 season begins this fall, a new report is adding some extra weight behind the thought that he ends up elsewhere.
According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Antetokounmpo’s time in Milwaukee “appears to be coming to an end, with multiple league sources telling ClutchPoints that Bucks ownership is ready to trade the two-time MVP.”
This report comes only two days after ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Milwaukee is “open for business on trade calls and offers” for Antetokounmpo, as well as NBA Insider Marc Stein reporting earlier this week that “More and more, with sources saying Miami and Portland are already in pursuit, Antetokounmpo’s future is increasingly expected to be resolved over the next few weeks in conjunction with NBA Draft proceedings.”
Jimmy Haslam, the Cleveland Browns owner, is a minority co-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, with a 25% investment in the franchise. When asked during Head Coach Taylor Jenkins’ introductory press conference if he anticipated being more involved in team personnel decisions, Haslam simply said, “I do.”
Haslam was also asked directly during the press conference about Antetokounmpo’s future, saying, “I just think before the draft is a natural time. Because if Giannis does play somewhere else, we’ve got to have a lot of assets. That’s Jon’s (Horst) job to do. And if he’s here, then you build the team differently.”
According to Polymarket traders, the Miami Heat have a 27% chance of acquiring Antetokounmpo, while the Bucks are likely to acquire a number of the Heat’s young players, including Tyler Herro and Kel’el Ware, as well as several draft picks for the former MVP.
