MERRILL, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A Merrill man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to animal mistreatment charges following the discovery of 16 dead cats in his home.
Matthew Krautkramer, 35, was charged in January after authorities found the abandoned animals. He pleaded guilty this week to four counts of mistreatment of animals causing death.
More than 40 other charges were dismissed but read in. Krautkramer was sentenced to 32 days in jail with credit for three days already served, followed by three years of probation.
