MADISON, WI (WSAU) – A Wisconsin advocacy group has announced a complaint against Democratic gubernatorial candidate and sitting Lt. Gov Sara Rodriguez after an alleged donation to their organization was never received.
According to a press release from the Wisconsin Federation of Republician Women, the Rodriguez campaign reported a $1,500 donation to them under the “Transfers Out to Other Registrants” section on February 17th, 2026, which was never paid; the group has since filed a formal complaint with the Wisconsin Ethics Commission to investigate this reported payment and other questionable donations listed on the report, following Rodriguez’s decision to fire her former campaign manager due to allegations of theft involving hundreds of thousands of dollars in missing funds.
In the complaint, the Federation requests that the Rodriguez campaign provide data that publicly accounts for what the $1,500 was spent on, explain why the entry, unlike others in the same filing, omits a treasurer’s name and address, and fully cooperate with the Commission’s investigation of the matter.
“Wisconsin voters have already been told once that Sara Rodriguez’s campaign finance reports can’t be taken at face value. They deserve to know whether it is another example – or potentially another fraud mechanism invented by the Sara Rodriguez campaign,” the statement read.
The Wisconsin Federation of Republican Women has been around since 1930 and has grown to become one of the top women’s political activist groups in Wisconsin. According to its website, its main goals are to support the Republican Party while also “increasing the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government.”
