TOWN OF CORNING, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A 17-year-old Merrill woman was airlifted to Marshfield Hospital with critical injuries after her car crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on with another vehicle on Highway 64 near Elm Grove Road.
The crash happened Sunday in the Town of Corning. The Lincoln County 911 Center received the report of a two-car crash with multiple injured people. Investigators say the eastbound car driven by the teen crossed into the westbound lane and struck the other vehicle.
The teen’s two-week-old son was in the car but was uninjured because he was in a car seat. The other car was driven by a 60-year-old man from Jim Falls. His 56-year-old wife was also in the vehicle.
Both sustained minor injuries. A helicopter flew the teen to Marshfield Hospital with unknown critical injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
