Plus he released a tasty solo record as well…
My favorite Money record was “Life For The Taking” from 1978. Played it alot on 90fm in Stevens Point.
It was one of those goose bump moments you get watching sports on Sunday and it had nothing to do with football. After the Packers escaped with a win I switched over to the Brewers-Cardinals game. It was a 1-0 Cardinal white wash until the 7th inning when all hell broke loose. Milwaukee took a lead on an unlikely opposite field homer from Corey Spangenberg. Which they promptly gave right back as Ray Black gave up a two run homer. It went to the 9th with the Cardinals holding a 4-3 lead when the Cardinal bullpen imploded. Their closer was not available because of the flu and the guys they brought out there could not find the plate. They walked the bases loaded but got Moustakas on a short fly ball that couldnt score a run. Two outs and the game on the line for Ryan Braun. He worked the count full and fouled off a change up. Then another changeup right down the middle and he didnt miss it….
I think Craig Coshun was almost speechless when the ball was hit. I dont think he could believe it. Josh Hader made it interesting in the bottom of the 9th giving up his first home run in a month but he was able to nail it down and the Brewers enter the week just three back in the Central with only sub-500 teams remaining on the schedule. The Cardinals play all good teams including 7 vs the Cubs.
Former Brewers manager Alex Grammas passed away over the weekend at the age of 93. He managed the team in 1976-77.
Lots of new movies coming
Mel Gibson & Sean Penn in a historical film about the making of the first dictionary? Um, ok.
I don't know what this is….
And this…comes out this week. Brad Pitt is supposed to be really good.
Covers Of The Day
A good piece on the resignation/firing of John Bolton. read it
here
“It remains a mystery why McMaster, Bolton, Coats, Mattis, Kelly and Rex Tillerson don't come before Congress to explain to the American people that the president is unfit. If they think this will disturb allies, they are mistaken. Our allies already know.”-Jennifer Rubin
Quotes of The Day
“Kavanaugh has destroyed the credibility of the Supreme Court. Barr has destroyed the credibility of the Attorney General. Trump has destroyed the credibility of the President of The United States.”-Steven Pasquale
“Never forget: Mitch McConnell kept one Supreme Court seat vacant for an entire year to get the POTUS what he wanted–but the next vacancy couldnt wait 2-3 additional weeks for a real FBI investigation of credible sexual assault charges against the nominee.”-Will Bunch
“We don't know yet: Who paid Kavanaughs debts. What he did with Bush and Cheney on torture, some 90% of his paperwork was not released. Who ordered the FBI to not fully investigate him. Why Kennedy “retired” when his son was implicated in Trumps Deutsche Bank problems.”-Thom Hartman
“Reading the latest round of Kavanaugh allegations and I don't have a word for this feeling. Some seething combination of rage and resignation, but not quite either of those things. Grief, maybe. How can the Court possibly stand for justice now?”-Susan Hennessey
“Could we just stop calling it the “Justice Department” right now.”-Michael McKean
“History will look back and determine that the fact Trump got this far into his presidency without being impeached was a serious failure of the nature and character of the US Congress and a sign our checks and balances do not work nearly as well as they should.”-David Rothkopf
“Trump described the White House National Security Advisor position as a “fun, do-nothing gig”. Thats not how any of this is supposed to work.”-Steve Benen
“Despite Trumpkins' vague claims about his supposedly economy-boosting deregulatory agenda, allowing companies to dump more lead in the water, pump more methane in the air, and use pesticides that give kids brain damage ain't gonna turbocharge economic growth.”-Catherine Rampell

“The president regularly lashes out at women of color with a particular venom. I think it's because he instinctively knows they see right through him, and in their agency lies his demise.”-Dan Rather
