It was March 5th 1982 that we lost John Belushi to his demons. I always thought Belushi was the funniest of the original Saturday Night Live crew. He could do more with a raised eyebrow than most actors could do with a 10 minute monologue. Yeah, he did some crap as all actors and comedians do but when he was good, he was really good. Do younger fans of SNL realize how talented the original cast was? They made young people stay in on Saturday night…or at least be around a television at 10:30. No you tube or Twitter or Facebook back then kids. Usually one tv (prob a black and white portable) in some crummy student apartment. But man, did we laugh….and it had nothing to do with any herbs we may have ingested. Ok, maybe a little.

Quotes Of The Day
“Hours long lines in Houston, as @maddow points out, are the product of an intentional design by the TX GOP- who closed 100s of polling places on purpose to make it harder for people to vote. And it should outrage you, no matter your party ID, bc it’s the antithesis of democracy”-Rachel Bitecofer
“Please remember: What is happening in Texas + California is voter suppression and it is intentional. No one should have to wait two or three hours to vote. Voter suppression disproportionately disenfranchises working class voters.”-Eric Holthaus
“I know that every Democratic candidate will support the winner. Those who have left the race… I will support Biden, Biden will support me. We will bring together 99% of all Democratic voters.”-Bernie Sanders
“Let’s be really clear about what’s happening right now. At the very moment when having health insurance matters more than ever before, the President of the United States is engaged in a relentless, daily campaign to end insurance for as many Americans as possible.”-Chris Murphy
“Warren would be the brightest, most dynamic, most imaginative, most principled & most effective American president in history. But she’s also asking a lot of Americans. In other years we could have risen to this challenge, but we are too broken by Trump to rise to the occasion.”-Virginia Heffernan
“What is not election rigging: having a historically diverse set of candidates winnowed down by a democratic process. Having those candidates endorse other candidates with whom their positions align.”-Nina Jancowicz
“Kinda funny that Bernie & Biden represent, in a buddy-comedy-archetype way, the most important lessons for the other person to learn: Bernie has a clear, articulate vision without a conciliatory instinct, and Biden is nostalgic magnanimity without the visionary articulation”-Derek Thompson
