TOWN OF TEXAS, WI (WSAU) — Three people have been arrested in a drug bust after another individual died in an overdose Friday night.
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a medical emergency a T6860 County Highway W in the Town of Texas.
When authorities arrived on scene they began life saving measures on the 28-year-old male from Wausau. Those measures were discontinued around 12:40am. His name has not yet been released.
Investigators then began looking into where the man got the heroin. After executing a search warrant on a home where two suspects lived in Weston, authorities found over 30 grams of heroin and over $10,000. Heroin was also found on the suspects during a traffic stop in Rib Mountain. In total, 960 doses of heroin were found with an estimated street value of $24,000.
On Saturday 28-year-old Riley Weinkauf, 37-year-old Tonya Muzynoski, and 51-year-old Shabaka Nubian-YI were all arrested. The charges brought against them include first-degree reckless homicide, possession of heroin with intent to deliver, and probation violations.
No other information has been released at this time.
