PITTSVILLE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A Pittsville bus driver is being accused of sexually assaulting a teenaged girl over a two-year period.
46-year-old Scott Thiel was an employee with Hahn Transportation. A criminal complaint says he began an inappropriate relationship with the girl in 2015.
The then 14-year-old girl is said to have left her cell phone on the bus that Thiel was driving. He gave the phone back to the girl, but not before adding his own number to it.
The girl told authorities that Thiel would often text her and ask her inappropriate questions about her body.
Court documents also say that Thiel would have the girl sit behind him while driving the bus.
Thiel has denied the accusations. The complaint states that he noticed the girl was “kind of a loner” and he would call her “beautiful” to cheer her up.
Thiel is currently being held in the Wood County Jail and is facing multiple charges including repeated sexual assault of a child and child enticement.
The owner of Hahn Transportation told WAOW Newsline 9 that he believes it wouldn’t be appropriate to comment at this time.
