UNDATED (WSAU) – A Marshfield man is being charged with a 9th drunk driving offense.
Jeffery Adams was charged yesterday in Marathon County court after he showed up drunk to confront an employer who’d recently fired him.
The confrontation with his former boss took place Saturday in Eau Plaine. Police were called when Adams refused to return a vehicle that his boss lent to him so he could get back-and-forth to work. The boss locked himself in a bathroom and called police to avoid a fight.
Police arrived around 8pm Saturday night, and noted that several empty beer cans were inside the vehicle.
Adams’ blood alcohol level was .20. His legal limit was .02 because of his earlier OWI convictions. And Adams’ regular vehicle was supposed to have a court-ordered ignition lock.
Bond was set at $25,000 during a Monday court hearing. He’ll be back in court for a preliminary hearing on September 6th.
