WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) A Mosinee man has reached a plea deal after being caught with guns and knives in his pick-up truck on school grounds.
A sentence for Logan Kasat, now 18, was withheld if he successfully completes the terms of his probation. He was ordered to either work or go to school full-time while on probation, or volunteer nine hours per week.
A classmate told police that Kasat had a riffle and knife in his car. He said they belonged to another family member and were intended for hunting. The classmate said she thought Kasat was a risk to their school.
In a separate case, a 2nd degree sexual assault charge was reduced to 4th degree sexual assault. Kasat entered a ‘no contest’ plea. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and must undergo a sexual offender evaluation.
If Kasat violated the terms of his probation, prosecutors could ask the court to have him register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
