WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Severe weather, including a tornado, hail, high winds, thunder and lightning rumbled through Central Wisconsin on Friday night. At the height of the storm more than 35,000 people in the Wisconsin Public Service area were without power. Restoration efforts will continue through the night.

There was a preliminary report of a tornado touchdown in Knowlton. A police report says a barn was destroyed. A possible touchdown was also reported by a trained weather spotter in the area.
Some areas also saw winds above 70 MPH associated with the storm and golf ball sized hail.
