MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — It was a busy day for Milwaukee Bucks GM Jon Horst on Friday. The team has one less free agent to worry about and they also picked up a seasoned playoff veteran for the rest of the season. They then went out and beat the LA Lakers 131-120 in LA.
The Bucks have agreed to a four-year, $70 million contract extension with guard Eric Bledsoe that will keep him in Milwaukee through the 2022-23 season. Bledsoe is enjoying his best season in the NBA and the 29 year old said he enjoys Milwaukee and wanted to stay and be part of a young team growing together.
Milwaukee also will add 18 year NBA veteran center Pau Gasol after he reached a contract buyout with San Antonio. Gasol is a six time all-star and two time NBA champion. The Bucks will need to clear a roster spot when they add Gasol.
And finally, Milwaukee capped the day with the victory over the Lakers. The Bucks trailed at halftime but rallied for the win. Bledsoe led the way with 31 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Malcolm Brogdon had 21 points.
Khris Middleton had 18 points and Giannis finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds.
The Bucks have won nine straight and will play at Utah tonight.
