MARYVALE, Az (WSAU) The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds 6-4 on Friday afternoon at American Family Fields of Phoenix.
Cory Spangenberg had two RBI’s. Orlando Arcia and Nate Orf drove in runs as well. Zach Davies, who will start against the Reds in the first week of the regular season didn’t use his entire arsenal and gave up four runs on six hits with three K’s over 5 1/3 innings.
The Brewers also finalized their Opening Day roster announcing that Ben Gamel had made the team. The other reserves will be Eric Thames, Hernan Perez, and Manny Pina. Spangenberg and Tyler Saladino will begin the seson at Triple A San Antonio.
With the bullpen banged up heading into the season, the Brewers also signed pitcher Alex Wilson. The 32 year old had opted out of a minor league deal with Cleveland last week. He’s been a member of the Detroit Tiger bullpen for the last four seasons.
