GRANTSBURG, WI (WSAU) — A woman from Plover was killed in a crash this past weekend.
Authorities have identified the two people killed in a crash on Highway 70 to the east of Grantsburg. The crash involved a semitrailer and a car on Saturday afternoon in Burnette County.
The two people who died have been identified as 22-year-old Micaela Schnieder of Plover and 22-year-old Olivia Johnson, a former student at the University of Minnesota and news reporter for a newspaper in Virginia.
Schnieder was driving the car west on Highway 70, when she lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the path of the eastbound semitrailer. Two people in the semi escaped any serious injuries.
