TOWN of CHELSEA, WI (WSAU) — The investigation into a 2-vehicle crash on the 2nd day of 2020 has concluded.
According to Taylor County Sheriff Larry Woebbeking, the driver of an SUV who died in a head-on vehicle accident on January 2nd has been identified as 45-year-old Chad Olson of Rib Lake, Wisconsin.
The accident happened that afternoon as Olson drifted into the opposite lane of traffic and was struck head-on by a semi-truck.

Following the conclusion of the investigation into the accident, results indicate that Olson was on his cell phone at the time of the accident. The cell phone usage was likely the cause of Olson drifting into the opposite lane of traffic or heavily contributed to the incident.
