WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Despite widespread cancellations, there are a handful of July 4th fireworks displays in Central Wisconsin that are going on as scheduled.
They are:
- Rhinelander: Hodag Park on July 4 at 9:30 pm.
- Marshfield: Marshfield Fairgrounds Park on July 4 at 10 pm.
- Boulder Junction: Boulder Junction Airport on July 4 at 10 pm.
- Mosinee: River park on July 4 at dusk.
- Rosholt: Portage Co. Fair Grounds on July 4.
- Lake DuBay: Bullheads Bar & Grill on July 3.
- Minoqua: Fireworks over Lake Minoqua on July 4.
- Rib Lake: Fireworks at dusk on July 3.
- Antigo: Antigo High School on July 4, at 9:20.
- Wisconsin Dells: Wisconsin Dells Municipal Pool on July 4 at dusk. Many of the individual resorts will also have displays.
Many other communities have called off fireworks shows this year, because of concerns about social distancing and other COVID-19 related issues. Riverfront Rendezvous in Stevens Point is postponed until 2021. Fireworks at Marathon Park in Wausau and in Merrill are also ‘off’ for this year.
