NEILLSVILLE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Clark County is implementing a mask policy for government operations and offices and facilities.
On Monday, July 27, employees and visitors to Clark County government offices and other county facilities will be required to wear a face-covering in order to enter and while at the facility. The requirement applies anytime social distancing is not possible.
There are certain exceptions to the rule, including children two years or younger or those with medical conditions that prevent them from wearing a face covering.
“Wearing face coverings, staying home when ill, washing hands, practicing social distancing, and avoiding large gatherings and crowds are simple measures everyone can take to protect themselves and others. The more things we can do to mitigate our risk of exposure, the better off we all are,” stated Brittany Mews, Health Officer.
Officials ask that individuals bring their own masks, but masks and hand sanitizer will be available at building entrances. Those who refuse to comply with face-covering requirements for reasons other than medical may be asked to leave.
“These requirements are being put in place to protect employees and visitors to Clark County facilities. Cooperation with these requirements is necessary and appreciated,” said Clark County Clerk/Administrative Coordinator Christina Jensen.
Clark County officials also encouraging residents to avoid non-essential visits to county facilities, and use alternate methods of communication to conduct business where possible.
