MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU-WDLB) — There was a high-speed chase on north Peach Avenue in Marshfield late Sunday night.
That’s when it took several police vehicles to pursue and eventually apprehend a 19-year-old man who was fleeing at speeds that at times exceeded 60-miles-per-hour while crossing the street’s center-line.
The chase started after the driver failed to negotiate a turn and hit a street sign at the corner of south Peach Avenue and Third Street. After getting out to inspect the damage while holding a liquor bottle, the man got back in his vehicle and fled.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of O.W.I. or Operating While Intoxicated, operating with a suspended license, fleeing an officer, reckless driving, hit-and-run, and causing property damage.
