STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) — Stevens Point based Sentry Insurance is adding another insurance group to their company. They announced yesterday that Hortica Insurance, which operates Florists’ Mutual Insurance Company has entered into an affiliation agreement with Sentry Insurance, and Hortica will become a member of the Sentry group of companies.
Sentry Board Chair, President and CEO Pete McPartland says both companies have over 100 years of serving customers as a mutual insurance company, and they are excited about what their combined efforts can bring to the market.
Hortica was founded in June of 1887. They are a leading insurer in the floral, garden center, and landscaping industries. Hortica will maintain its name and brand and will continue doing business from its current Edwardsville, Illinois headquarters, but will benefit from Sentry’s resources and technology.
