Chrissie Hynde is out with another Bob Dylan cover. The Pretenders' singer has been covering Dylan songs the past few weeks on a series of YouTube videos called the Dylan Lockdown Series. The latest is a cover of “Standing in the Doorway,” from Dylan's classic 1997 album “Time Out of Mind.” The Pretenders' new album “Hate for Sale” comes out July 17th.

I've been revisiting the original Chicago lineup recently and focused on an LP that I didn't buy when it was new. The 3rd LP didn't grab me like the first two but the fact that even after using up so many good songs on the first two albums, they were still able to come up with this one while touring relentlessly is amazing. Terry Kath was other worldly, Cetera's bass was so cool put out front of the recordings, Seraphine's drumming was so damn inventive, Lamm's arranging skill was very underrated, and the horn charts from Pankow, Loughnae and Parazaider were the cherry on top.
