WARREN TOWNSHIP, WI (WSAU) – A homicide suspect from Minnesota is in custody after a high-speed chase in Wisconsin. It was thought the subject was armed with a handgun and may have had explosive devices.
The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department was alerted about a high-speed chase in Minnesota on I-94 that was headed towards the Wisconsin boarder. The suspect reached speeds of more than 120-miles-per-hour. The suspect crashed in Warren Township and fled with a dark backpack into a cornfield. Law enforcement set up a perimeter and the suspect was apprehended around 5am Friday morning.
Sheriffs deputies say the man is being held in the county jail pending charges. His name won’t be released until his identity is confirmed.
