RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU) — A teenager driving with three others are facing their first OWI offense.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, on Monday afternoon a trooper stopped a vehicle for equipment and moving violations. During the stop, the trooper suspected that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence. A field sobriety test was conducted on the driver, who failed the test.
The driver was arrested for a first OWI offense with minor passengers as there were four people in the car. Along with the driver were two children under the age of 16 and an adult passenger. The adult passenger was also arrested for a charge of drug possession. One of the minor passengers also has a referral for drug possession charges.
The driver and the adult passenger of the vehicle were transported to the Oneida County Jail after the traffic stop and arrests.
