TOWN OF ROME, WI (WSAU) – A man died in Adams County while working on a car.
Rome Police were called to the 400-block of 16th Avenue around 9:30pm Tuesday. Police found a 26-year-old man underneath a car. Witnesses said the vehicle had fallen on top of him.
First responders said the man was not breathing when they arrived.
“When another resident arrived home, they found the man unresponsive under the car. They said it appeared the car fell off the stands onto the man,” according to a written report from Rome PD. “The residents used a board to lift the car and then removed the man from under it. They said he was not breathing when he was removed.”
EMTs had called for an air ambulance, but the victim was pronounced dead before he could be airlifted from the scene.
Rome PD and the Adams County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the death.
