WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A kidnapping suspect is being held on $500,000 bond after making an initial appearance in Marathon County court on Thursday.
Brian Storzer, 49, of Green Bay is accused of assaulting a Langlade County woman last Saturday, tying her wrists with duct tape and taking her cellphone. The woman, a former girlfriend, was forced into Storzer’s truck. He drove into Marathon County, where his victim briefly escaped while he stopped at a red right in Rib Mountain. She was re-captured, and other drivers saw her being forced back into the vehicle and called police.
Marathon County Sheriff’s Deputies caught Storzer when they used a spike strip to blow out his tires.
The woman is recovering at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Storzer is charged with kidnapping, battery, false imprisonment, and reckless endangerment. He’s due back in court for a preliminary hearing on September 8th, when a judge will determine if there’s enough evidence for the case to proceed to trial.
Court records also show that Storzer was charged with attempted arson and criminal trespass involving the same woman’s property last month. He is likely to face additional charges in Langlade County for violating the terms of a restraining order.
