WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) Having the best regular season record means nothing in a one game playoff and the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters learned that the hard way on Friday night at Witter Field. Despite going 35-11 this summer, the Rafters were bounced from the Northwoods League playoffs as the La Crosse Loggers beat the Rafters 1-0.
Ronald Sweeny hit a solo home run in the top of the ninth for the only run of the game.Travis Weston pitched six innings for the win.
The Loggers will face Fond du Lac for the Wisconsin-Illinois pod title tonight as the Dock Spiders topped Green Bay 9-4. Matt Bottcher went 4-4 for the Spiders
