WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Officials with the Wausau School District have released a statement regarding an incident at the School Forest this weekend.
Early Sunday morning officials found a man sleeping in the driveway of the facility with a handgun in his possession. Officials notified police, who were able to arrest the man without incident.
It’s unclear what brought him to the school forest.
Officials emphasize that no students were in the forest at the time of the incident. No further information, including the name of the man or the nature of any potential charges against him, will be released at this time.
