PORT EDWARDS, WI (WSAU) — A three-vehicle collision has left two people dead in Wood County this weekend.
Sheriff’s officials and first responders from at least three municipalities were called to County Road Z in the Village of Port Edwards on Saturday at 7:15. That’s where a northbound vehicle that was said to be traveling at a high rate of speed collided head-on with two southbound vehicles after crossing the centerline.
The driver of the northbound vehicle and the driver of one of the southbound vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have identified them as 27-year-old Brandi Behnke of Auburndale and 61-year-old Todd Crawford of Babcock.
Injured in the crash were 25-year-old Konrad Winters of Wisconsin Rapids and 62-year-old Carol Flick, also of Wisconsin Rapids.
It’s not clear which driver was in which vehicle, or which vehicle was carrying the passenger. The crash remains under investigation.
In addition to officials from Wood County, first responders from Nekoosa, Saratoga, and Wisconsin Rapids were called to the scene along with the state Highway Patrol and Neiman’s Tow Service.
