ORLANDO, FLA (MetroSource-WSAU) –Reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has been named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
Giannis received 75 first-place votes out of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters. He becomes the fifth player to win both MVP and DPOY joining Kevin Garnett, Hakeem Olajuwon, Michael Jordan and David Robinson.
He is the second Buck to win the honor. Sidney Moncrief won it twice.
The Bucks will look to win the East’s first round and advance this afternoon in Game 5 against the Magic in Orlando. Pre game show at 2:30 on Foxsports Radio AM1390 & FM 93.9
Milwaukee has won the past three games after a Game 1 upset. Should the Bucks win, the will face the Heat in the semifinals.
