MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers have lost catcher Manny Pina for what manager Craig Counsell says is the rest of the regular season.
Pina was place on the IL after tearing the meniscus in his right knee diving back into first base on a pickoff attempt in a game on Thursday.
Pina had started 12 games for the Brewers and was hitting .231 with two homers.
The Brewers recalled Jacob Nottingham who got the start in Friday nights game and had 2 RBIs.
The team also officially released Brock Holt and designated pitcher Justin Grimm for assignment.
