MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – On Monday, Wisconsin saw fewer than 300 confirmed cases of coronavirus in a single day for the first time since June 23. However, the state also reported fewer than 4,000 tests for the first time since June 1.
The state Department of Health Services reported 266 positive tests and 3,552 negative tests on Monday. The seven-day average of confirmed cases stood at 678.
Monday’s 7% positivity rate was lower than the seven-day average of 8.2%.
There were no new deaths reported, keeping the seven-day average at six.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 75,603 confirmed coronavirus cases and more than 1.1 million negative tests in Wisconsin.
A total of 1,122 people have died.
As of Monday, DHS considered 67,234 people to have recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
