MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau man will spend life in prison for admitting to killing his friend in 2017.
Eric Moen, 35, was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday afternoon for a charge of 1st-degree of intentional homicide. Moen plead guilty to shooting his friend Charles Ramp at a Tomahawk home in November of 2017.
According to police, Moen lured Ramp out of his home and then shot him five times before driving away. A motive for the killing is unclear, but police say he decided to commit the crime while he was on lunch break from work.
Moen will be eligible for parole after serving 40 years in the Wisconsin State Prison system. Moen is being credited with 1,021 days, or just under 3 years, already served towards his sentence.
