MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — A local healthcare system will be offering free flu shots over the next two weeks.
Marshfield Clinic Health System is offering free flu vaccine clinics starting on December 5th. The flu vaccine clinics will be for adults 19 and over. Those who qualify for the vaccine clinics do not need to show proof of insurance and do not need an appointment.
Flu vaccination clinics will be offered at Marshfield Clinic’s Wausau Center on Saturday, December 5th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Marshfield Clinic’s Stratford Center on Tuesday, December 8th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Marshfield Clinic’s Neillsville Center on Tuesday, December 8th and Thursday, December 10th from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Marshfield Clinic’s Colby/Abbotsford Center on Saturday, December 12th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Flu vaccines are strongly recommended this year with the continued COVID-19 pandemic. Following a vaccine, the body takes 2 to 3 weeks to develop an immune response for the flu season that ranges from December to February.
The release advises residents to continue to wear a mask, wash hands frequently, sneezee into your arm, and staying home when you are sick to halt the spread of both COVID-19 and influenza.
