WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Officials from the Wausau School District have confirmed that a break-in was reported at the Hewitt-Texas Elementary School.
According to a news release Wednesday night the incident resulted in some damage to the building. One classroom will be inaccessible for the time being, but officials say classes will be held as normal for the foreseeable future.
One class will be held in a different room, no other students and staff should be impacted by the incident.
The extent of the damage is unknown. Sheriff’s officials are continuing their investigation, and no further details will be released at this time.
