NEW YORK, NY (WSAU) — For the first time since flexible scheduling was implemented for prime-time and late-afternoon games, the NFL has moved the Dallas Cowboys off of national TV.
Even crazier, the move was made to put the Cleveland Browns into a national broadcast.
The Week 15 Sunday Night Football contest has been changed from Cowboys-49ers to Browns-Giants, with the former game moving to a noon kickoff on CBS.
In another schedule move, the winless New York Jets’ contest against the LA Rams has been moved to CBS from FOX. It will remain in the 3:15 kickoff window.
Other national games in Week 15 include a Thursday Night affair between the Vegas Raiders and LA Chargers. Two games will be played on Saturday including Green Bay against Carolina and Buffalo versus Denver.
The Monday Night game features Pittsburgh against Cincinnati.
Of course, this year’s schedule is subject to change with just a day or two’s notice due to COVID-19.
The NFL utilizes flexible scheduling to make sure meaningful matchups are played out in prime-time windows as often as possible and occasionally to even out the number of games that CBS and FOX are responsible for producing in the Sunday afternoon windows.
