STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — A Plover man will spend just under 3 years behind bars for taking photos of unsuspecting women in a Plover neighborhood.
Randall Cherney, 56 was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in prison for six felony charges of capturing an intimate representation, capturing an intimate representation of a victim under the age of 18, and stalking. Following his prison sentence, Cherney will be on extended supervision for 2 years and 8 months.
Cherney was arrested in October of 2019 after a woman accused someone of leaning a ladder against her home and taking pictures through a window. Police then followed tracks in the soft ground to Cherney’s home, where he was arrested.
Cherney will receive a 43-day credit from the court for time already served in prison. He will also be placed on the sex offender registry when on extended supervision.
