STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — A man has been arrested for supplying the drugs that killed a Stevens Point man in November.
According to a press release from the Stevens Point Police Department, 42-year-0ld Donquill Currin was arrested on Tuesday by officers from both the Stevens Point and Plover Police Departments. He was arrested for the suspected overdose death of 28-year-old Travis LaBarge on November 22nd, 2020.
LaBarge overdosed on a mix of heroin and fentanyl. After several weeks of investigation, the Stevens Point and Plover Police Departments identified the person they believed supplied the heroin and fentanyl to LaBarge. They conducted several covert purchases of the drugs from the suspected supplier that totaled over 8 grams.
Two search warrant was executed at Currin’s residence in Plover which resulted in his arrest. He has been arrested on 6 felony charges including delivery of heroin, 1st-degree reckless homicide by drugs, delivery, and conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver more than 50 grams of heroin.
The case of Currin and LaBarge’s death is still an ongoing investigation.
