WAUSAU, WI (WSAU)– A Christmas Eve fire damaged an east-side Wausau home and killed a family pet.
The family was not home when the fire started in the 800 block of Fulton Street. It was reported around 7:51 and the Wausau Fire Department responded.
The single family residence had a visible fire on the second floor and roof areas. According to a Wausau Fire Department release, they were able to quickly knock down the fire and rescue the family dog. A cat did not survive.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
