STEVENS POINT and ROTHSCHILD, WI (WSAU) — A dusting of snow on Sunday caused traffic incidents throughout Central Wisconsin on Sunday.
A crash near Stevens Point caused bumper-to-bumper traffic in the southbound lane of Interstate 39/US 51 near Stevens Point early in the afternoon. That incident was cleared up in about an hour.
Then at about 3 PM, an incident in the southbound lanes of Highway 51 near the Business 51 interchange in Rothschild blocked the left lane of traffic. That incident also took about an hour to clear up.
Crashes also backed up traffic along Highway 29 in Shawano County.
The traffic website 511WI reported all major highways going into and out of Wausau as snow-covered late Sunday afternoon. Traffic speeds were said to be slow in many areas.
