WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A Wood County man celebrated his 90th birthday in a special way on Thursday afternoon.
Harry Stoltz got to see all 22 members of his family in a drive-by parade past his house instead of the usual gathering at his home. Stoltz’s son Paul tells WAOW-TV everyone wanted to do something for Harry.
“I think everyone was pretty excited to do something for my dad. They were all eager to help. Everyone who knows my dad seems to like him. They can’t say anything bad about him.”
Stoltz was very appreciative his family was able to find a creative way to celebrate together socially distanced. “Everybody that stopped by today, I would say thank you, thank you, thank you, over and over. I knew I loved all you people, but (it’s) probably a little more now.”
Stoltz says one of the keys to living a long and happy life is to have a loving wife. Harry and his wife Joella will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on July 3. Harry’s son says he has over 50 birthday cards to open.
