WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Northcentral Technical College President Dr. Lori Weyers announced she will be retiring on June 30th after 15 years with the school.
“Serving as NTC’s president has been the most rewarding, fulfilling role of my 42-year career in higher education,” said Weyers through a press release. “We have accomplished so much but none of it would have been possible without the amazing support of our leadership team, staff, and faculty. I find great comfort in knowing that the College is well poised to continue to serve our students and our community.”
Weyers made the announcement during a January 12th Board of Trustees meeting. She took over as President of the school in 2006. All told she’s served the state’s technical college system for more than 40 years including tenures with Fox Valley Technical College and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
During her 15 years with NTC, the school has seen its enrollment grow substantially. The school has also entered into credit transfer and online education partnerships with many institutions including Madison College and Purdue University-Global.
An internal search for the school’s next president will begin immediately and should be announced no later than this April.
