MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Both the Badger men’s and women’s hockey squads picked up wins on Saturday.
In a top-five women’s matchup, the #2 Badgers defeated top-ranked Minnesota for a second consecutive night 6-3. The Badgers got goals from Brette Pettet, Brita Curl, and Lacy Eden in the win. Kennedy Blair stopped 23 shots in the win.
Wisconsin sits in first place in the league based on the percentage of points earned, which the conference will use to determine a regular-season champion this year due to each team playing an uneven number of games.
The men kept a clean sheet in a 4-0 win over Arizona State. Goals came from Jack Gorniak, Josh Ess, Ty Pelton-Byce, and Tyler Inamoto. Cameron Rowe saved all 11 shots he faced in net to earn his first career shutout.
The same two teams will play again this evening to wrap up their weekend set.
Arizona State is playing an all B1G schedule this year though is not considered a conference member.
