ST. CLOUD, MN (WSAU) — The Wisconsin women’s hockey team battled St. Cloud State to a 4-2 win on Saturday.
Unlike Friday’s game, in which Wisconsin won 10-0, the Huskies took a brief lead when Jenniina Nylund opened the scoring two minutes into the contest. Sophie Shirley would tie the game just before the first intermission.
SCSU then reclaimed a 2-1 advantage eight minutes into the second frame, but from there the Badgers would score three unanswered including a shorthanded goal from Shirley and even-strength goals from Lacey Eden and Daryl Watts.
Kennedy Blair made 21 saves in net including 10 in the second period.
Wisconsin improves to 8-2-0 in WCHA play. They will enjoy a bye this coming weekend before returning to action on February 4th and 5th against Minnesota in Minneapolis.
