RIB MOUNTAIN, WI (WSAU) — Health officials are letting the public know of a possible COVID-19 exposure at a business.
The Marathon County Health Department put out a press release Tuesday afternoon about potential COVID-19 exposure at Bella Nails and Spa in mid-January. The release is being put out to identify possible close contacts at the business that could not be found through other means of contact tracing.
An individual who works at the business on 2801 Rib Mountain tested positive for COVID-19 and was working at the nail salon during their infectious period. They worked at the business on Tuesday, January 19th from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 20th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Health Department is encouraging everyone who was present at the business on those two days to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days after their visit. Common COVID-19 symptoms include fever or chills, cough, and shortness of breath.
Joan Theurer, Marathon County Health Officer, says in the release, “The community’s health and safety is our number one priority and we are working closely with Bella Nails and Spa. We recognize that individuals voluntarily engage in activities that expose themselves and others to the COVID virus despite the prevention efforts of business owners.
“This is why it is so important people take the necessary actions to protect themselves. This notification should not be construed to mean that the Marathon County Health Department has determined that the owner/proprietor has done anything wrong.”
To ensure the privacy of the individual, the Marathon County Health Department will not provide further information regarding the identity of the individual who tested positive for COVID-19.
