STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) The UWSP women’s basketball team opened their shortened season with a 61-50 loss to UW-Whitewater.
Senior Bailee Collins posted her fifth career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Pointers. Taylor Greenheck had 14 and freshman Sierra Raine had eight points and nine rebounds.
The Pointers head to Whitewater on Friday.
The UWSP mens basketball team hit the road for their opener and held off UW-Whitewater 70-68.
Junior Philip Flory led all scorers with 26 along with six rebounds. Garrett Nelson added 17 .
The Pointers will host Whitewater on Friday night.
The UWSP womens’ hockey team skated to a 2-2 overtime tie at UW-Eau Claire .
Alana Achterkirch and Emma Berthiaume had the goals for the Pointers who gave up a 2-0 lead in the game.
Olivia Schultz had 16 saves for the Pointers. \
UWSP will host Eau Claire on Friday night.
The UWSP men’s hockey dropped a 7-3 game with UW-Eau Claire at KB Willet Arena.
The Blugolds scored 4 times in the first period before Zach Zech got the Pointers on the board. The other Pointer goals went to Colin Raver and Ryan Orgel
Eli Billing had 26 saves.
The two teams play Friday at Eau Claire.
