MARATHON CITY, WI (WSAU) — Residents in Marathon City are advised to use water conservatively over the next 12 hours.
According to Village Administrator Andrew Kurtz, a water main break has been reported on the southwest side of the Village. The major water main break will impact water pressure in the Village until it is fixed.
The Village is asking residents to limit their water usage over the next 12 hours as work on the water main break will be hindered by the severe cold weather. Kurtz says, “We will be working as quickly as we can to restore full service; however, once the line is repaired it will take hours for the system to fully recharge.”
Residents are also asked to avoid the intersection of 10th St. and Hickory as streets will be blocked by large equipment. The area will also be icy due to water work that makes travel in that area dangerous.
More updates are expected as repairs on the water main break are completed.
