WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — One person is in the hospital following a structure fire Thursday night in Wausau.
WAOW-TV is reporting one person was transported to the hospital after a house fire in Wausau. The house is located near the intersection on Sherman Street and South 3rd Ave.
When crews arrived on the scene they found a fire but were able to knock it down quickly and keep it contained to a room on the second floor. Everyone inside the home made it out by the time crews arrived on the scene, but one person was taken to the hospital.
According to Kraig Kruzan a battalion chief with the Wausau Fire Department, “They sustained non-life-threatening injuries and they were transported to Aspirus. Their current condition is unknown,”.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation although Kruzan says it appears to be accidental.
