MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued an air quality advisory for much of Central Wisconsin that will run until 3pm on Sunday.
The advisory extends to Marathon, Wood, Portage, Taylor, Shawano, Waupaca, and Clark counties among others.
The advisory is for particulate pollution. These fine particles come from things like power plants, factories, vehicle exhaust and wood burning.
The Air Quality Index is in the Orange range which means the air is considered unhealthy for people in sensitive groups. That includes those with asthma, lung disease and also older adults and children. They should limit outdoor exposure during the advisory.
