STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The UWSP men’s hockey team came up short in the WIAC Tournament Championship Game dropping a 3-2 final to UW-Superior on Friday night at KB Willet Arena.
Colin Raver and Carter Roo had the Pointer goals. Ryan Wagner had 29 saves. Superior scored the game winner on a power play in the 3rd period.
The Pointers finish the shortened season with a record of 7-4-1.
The UWSP women’s hockey team had their season end with a 6-2 loss to River Falls in the WIAC semifinals.
Olivia Schultz kept the game close for a while but was bombarded with Falcon shots ending up with a career-high 52 saves.
The Pointer goals went to Annika Horman and Sara Aadalen.
The Pointers wrap up the shortened season with a record of 3-6-1
The UWSP softball team took a DH from Hamline on Friday in St Paul. The Pointers posted 16 runs in 12 innings of work winning 10-1 and 6-1.
Rachael Wakefield had three hits and three RBIs on the day. Maddie Candre had three hits as well.
Makenna Tkach scattered three hits in seven innings on the mound.
The Pointers, now 8-2, will play the University of Chicago in Madison on March 20th.
